I am passionate about working with children and teenagers and have received extensive training during my internship in the area of child-centered play therapy (CCPT). I believe that every child has the capability and inner resources needed to work toward positive change and that it is my role as a play therapist to provide a safe, accepting environment for them to explore their world through play. As a component of CCPT, I also work with parents, providing strategies and resources to support children at home.
Additionally, I work with preteens and teenagers from a person-centered lens, allowing the client to direct the therapy process and draw on their inner resources to achieve positive change. With these clients, I also integrate components of expressive arts therapy and play therapy when appropriate.
I have experience working with referral concerns of separation anxiety, general anxiety, depression, ADHD, and externalizing behavior. I also have experience working with autism, with a background as a behavior technician providing ABA therapy.
I see individuals ages 2.5 and older and may be accepting new clients. I have afternoon and evening availability. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your child and family!
