Susan Daly has been a School Social Worker for Fairfax County Public Schools since 2021.  Prior to that, she was the only School Social Worker in Fluvanna County Public Schools for 25 years.  Susan graduated from the University of Virginia in 1987 with a double major in English and Psychology.  She earned a Master of Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1994.  After completing her Master’s degree, Susan worked at the University of Virginia Children’s Medical Center as well as the Fluvanna County Department of Social Services, where she was a Senior Social Worker.  Susan has served on the Virginia Association of School Social Workers board, including four years as president. She is currently Parliamentarian for the Association.  Susan has also participated in committees for the School Social Work Association of America, including the legislative committee, special projects and the committee that initiated the National Certification program.  Susan is currently working toward licensure as a clinical social worker, National School Social Worker certification and registration as a play therapist.  Susan is a registered yoga teacher.  Her personal passions include attending music festivals and hiking with her husband, relaxing at the beach and spending time with her family and friends.

Susan Daly is currently a School Social Worker for Fairfax County Public Schools. She has been a School Social Worker in Virginia since 1996. A 1994 graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University's Master of Social Work program, Susan initially served as a social worker at the University of Virginia Medical Center and the Fluvanna County Department of Social Services prior to her employment as a School Social Worker for Fluvanna County Public Schools.  Susan has been a School Social Worker for Fairfax County Public Schools since 2021. She has served as the President of the Virginia Association of School Social Workers (VASSW) and she is currently on the VASSW board. She is passionate about advocating for the profession and for students and families. Susan is pursuing her LCSW and anticipates completion of licensure in early 2026.
