Who We Are
Therapy works best when you're not being handed a one-size-fits-all approach. That's why we built Acadian differently. Every provider on our team has pursued advanced training in a specific area of practice — trauma, play therapy, EMDR, DBT, family systems — so when you call us, we're not just finding you an open slot. We're matching you with someone who has spent years learning to treat exactly what you're walking in with.
Specialized Care for Complex Needs
Many of the people who find us have been in therapy before, or were told their situation was "complex." A child whose big behaviors have exhausted everyone's ideas. Trauma that talk therapy alone hasn't touched. The intensity that comes with a personality disorder diagnosis. A service member or first responder carrying things most people can't imagine.
This is the work our team is trained for. Our clinicians hold advanced training in EMDR for trauma processing, child-centered play therapy for our youngest clients, dialectical behavior therapy for emotional intensity, and family systems work for when the whole household is hurting. Our psychiatric nurse practitioners work alongside your therapist, so medication and therapy support each other instead of happening in separate silos.
And because we believe expertise should be shared: our senior clinicians also train and supervise the next generation of therapists. The standards we hold our residents to are the standards we hold ourselves to.
